My job
I work at the University of Victoria Humanities Computing and Media Centre as a Programmer/Analyst. I work primarily on digital editions of literary and historical texts, indigenous language dictionaries, and other humanities websites and publications, mostly using XML technologies (TEI XML, XSLT, XQuery, XHTML5, XSL:FO) as well as LaTeX, JavaScript, and CSS. I am particularly focused on creating sustainable, resilient websites which require no maintenance because they are Endings-compliant. Iʼve worked as a programmer and collaborator on many projects, including:
- The Endings Project
- Medieval Anglo-Jewish Women
- The Map of Early Modern London
- Digital Victorian Periodical Poetry
- Linked Early Modern Drama Online
- Le Mariage sous l’Ancien Régime
- The Robert Graves Diary
- The Colonial Despatches of Vancouver Island and British Columbia
- Mapping Keat’s Progress
- My Norse Digital Image Repository
- THEN & NOW: Romantic-Era Poets in the ENCYCLOPÆDIA BRITANNICA ELEVENTH EDITION 1910-1911
- The British Book Trade Index
- Onkwendahchondiahkwa’ Wendat Dictionary
